Rumeli Fortress Rumeli Fortress is settled on a hill at the European side of the Bosporus. It was constructed in between 1451 and 1452; the aim of that building was to control the traffic of the Bosporus and to stop any help that could come to Constantinople over the Black Sea. It has been converted to Rumeli Fortress Museum. You should go there for both historical significance and the Bosporus view which is one of the greatest views of Bosporus.

Rumeli Fortress Museum is closed on Wednesdays. On other days, the museum is open between 09.00-16.30 hours. Entrance fee is 5 YTL.

Ortaköy Mosque

Ortaköy Mosque The Mosque is located at Ortaköy which district is one of the most popular locations on the Bosporus. It was built with the order of the Sultan Abdülmecid between 1854 and 1856.

Anatolia Fortress

Anatolia Fortress Anatolia Fortress is settled on the Asian side of the Bosporus. It was constructed in between 1393 and 1394; it was the time one year before the Second Ottoman Siege of Constantinople.

Anatolia Fortress is not open to public visit. If you like, you should just see the outer walls of the Fortress.

Maiden’s Tower

Maiden’s Tower Maiden’s Tower is located in the Bosporus strait off the coast of Üsküdar. Maiden's Tower was built in 408 BC to control the movements of the Persian ships in the Bosporus strait by the Athenians. Today at the first floor there is a restaurant and at the top of the tower a cafe.

You should just see the view of the Maiden’s Tower from Üsküdar or you should take a boat to the Tower. Also you should have a dinner there with a reservation.

Bosporus Boat Tour You have three departure options for Bosporus boat tour. The prices and the route are nearly same, one departs from Eminönü, one departs from Beşiktaş and the other one departs from Ortaköy. It is recommended to take the one from Ortaköy. Because the others are more crowded. For both there is no guide, these tours only contains sightseeing, they approximately cost 6 - 7 YTL per person and a tour takes nearly an hour.
