Baklava Baklava is a pastry made of layers of phyllo dough filled with chopped walnuts or pistachios and sweetened with syrup or honey.

Approx one portion of baklava is 5 – 8 YTL, and 1 kg of baklava is 20 – 25 YTL.

Turkish Delight back to top
Turkish Delight Turkish Delight, “lokum” is a confection made from starch and sugar. It is generally flavored with rosewater and lemon. It is often packaged and eaten in small cubes that are dusted with icing sugar or copra to prevent sticking. Some types contain small nut pieces, usually pistachio, hazelnut or walnuts.

Kadayıf & Künefe back to top
Kadayıf & Künefe Kadayıf pastry looks like long thin noodle threads. The pastry is heated with some butter for a while then hot syrup is poured on it. Künefe is a variant of Kadayıf which consists of special cheese inside the Kadayıf pastry.

Cezerye back to top
Cezerye Cezerye is a confection made of carrot and some kind of nuts are added to the mixture. It is believed that Cezerye has aphrodisiac effects.

Beyoğlu Chocolate A special chocolate with hazelnut, almond or pistachio. You can find it at Taksim on Istiklal Avenue at small shops.
