As a traveler if you like to buy stuff as gift and the stuff special for Istanbul you can visit Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar. Also at Sultanahmet District you can find lots of jewelry, leather, carpets and gift shops. If you would like to shop for normal stuff, you can visit shopping centers. Some shopping centers, which are on the metro line, are listed below.

Grand Bazaar

 Grand Bazaar is located at the Sultanahmet district. It has got more than 6000 shops. It is also a historical place which has been built in between 1455 and 1461. You should find lots of jewelry, leather, carpets, cups, traditional clothes, nargile (water pipe), backgammon, and gift shops. You should bargain while shopping, sometimes you can buy some stuff half of the price that the seller asks. Mostly the sellers know that you will like to bargain so they say higher prices, so without bargaining you will by the stuffs with higher prices. There are several same kinds of shops so you should check some shops and then buy what you want. But also be careful that it is not easy to find the shops that you have gone before, probably you will lose them.

Spice Bazaar

 Spice Bazaar is at the Eminönü district, also known as "Egyptian Bazaar". You should buy Turkish Delights and other kinds of desserts, apple tea and other herbal teas, nargile (water pipe) and nargile tobacco, and backgammon.

Karaköy Güllüoğlu Baklava Shop

 The shop is located at the Karaköy district. This brand produces and sells the best baklava of the world. You should try baklava there and also you should buy some baklava as a gift.

Shopping Centers

There are lots of shopping centers in Istanbul, but we recommend you three of them which are on the Taksim – 4. Levent subway line. They are “Cevahir”, “MetroCity”, and “Kanyon”. “Cevahir” is the biggest one and it is at the “Şişli” stop, you can find there whatever you want. “Kanyon” and “MetroCity” are at the “Levent” stop, if you would like see different kind of shopping centers you should also visit them.
